One of these is BullBuddy, who assure that they can help to lower your energy bills each year by finding you a better supplier than the one you’re currently with.

But is it actually worth signing up to a company like BillBuddy, or would you be better off doing things yourself? Well, we’re going to take a quick look at the company, and whether they’re worth you spending your time signing up to their service.

As well as great service, they have a pretty user friendly website too. The good thing is that they’ve not got any bias towards any specific company, meaning they’re only focussed on finding you the best deal possible.

You may or may not have heard of BillBuddy, who are one of the growing energy saving switching websites online. In fact nowadays they’re doing more than just comparing your energy, and you can go to them to find a better broadband deal, as well as various types of insurance too (like home and car insurance). They’re not a massive company, but they’re definitely growing in stature, especially over the past year with thousands of happy customers.

They make their money by simply switching you over to another better energy deal than the one you’re currently one. They work with all the big companies, including the big six and many more out there. So, if you’re looking to get a better deal on your energy, then BillBuddy are definitely worth considering.

BillBuddy Pricing Structure

The good thing about Energy Switchers like BillBuddy is that they actually don’t end costing us, the consumer, any more money than if we went with a company directly. If BillBuddy recommend that you switch over to Octopus Energy, then this won’t cost you any more than if you went to Octopus Energy directly.

They make their money by being an affiliate for the company, so in this example Octopus would pay them a small percentage for switching them over to their company. This is great, as it means we don’t end up paying any more money. The also manage to do this completely impartially by taking the same affiliate commission from all energy companies. This means that they don’t favour one over the other, and they truly will get you the best deal for you.

Can I Use BillBuddy with a smart meter?

If you’ve got a smart meter at home, then you might be worried that you can use BillBuddy (and if you don’t check out the advantages and disadvantages of smart meters). Well, these good news is that you can, and many of the energy suppliers that they are partnered with will be compatible with your smart meter. However, it might turn out that the best energy company for you don’t use smart meters. In this case, you’d just need to send the meter readings yourself, which doesn’t take long.

BillBuddy provide a very good customer service, and they’ll help you out with any more information that you need from them. Then each year, they’ll check whether there’s a better deal for you. If there is, then they’ll switch you over to it free of charge! However, you may still have exit fees with your current supplier, and there’s nothing that BillBuddy can do about that.

Can I cancel my contract with BillBuddy?

If you’re not happy with BillBuddy, then you can easily cancel using the company – bear in mind that this won’t cancel your energy contract. That will run until the end of the yearly contract, then at this point you can be free to find your own deal, or use a different energy switching site.
