The average gas bill for a small bed flat in the UK is ÂŁ190.20, plus ÂŁ92.24 of standing charges equals ÂŁ282.44. If we add all of these charges together, then we get an average cost of ÂŁ669.26.
But how exactly do we get to this figure? Well, let’s break it down so we can work out exactly how we get to the average. This way, if you know your electricity or gas usage already, then you can work out how much your electricity would be if you was on an average rate.

The average electricity usage of a one bed flat in the UK is 1800kWh. If we apply this to an average of the top six suppliers, which is approximately £16.81 per kWh of usage, then we come to a figure of £302.58. This works out at just over £25 per month, which is around the average electricity price for a studio or one bed flat in the UK.
