Utilita Pricing & Tariffs

Utilita is one of the most used companies amongst holiday home owners and landlords. Why? Well, they’re actually one of the only companies that don’t charge their companies the typical standing charge.

So with the vast majority of energy companies, you’re resigned to paying 20p a day or so every day of the year. But with Utilita, you don’t pay this standing charge, so if you’re not occupying the home and using energy, then you won’t have to pay this charge. This is great for landlords, and it’s a reason why many people switch to their service.

They have a few different tariffs to look at, including their saver rate. This works by charging your first 50p of each day as normal, and then decreasing the charge significantly after this. This can be a good choice if you’re home on weekends and use a lot of energy these days, and not so much throughout the week.

They’re also quite customer centred, and they’ll never turn your meter off outside of the hours 10am-2pm. This means that if your electric does run out in the evening, you’ll still be able to use it the following morning.

Can I use a smart meter with Utilita?

Yes, Utilita are probably the best company for you to use a smart meter with! They have a really handy app which can allow you to track your bills, and their smart meter is one of the easiest to use. They’re also great if you want to opt for a pas as you go tariff, as you can top up easily online.

What is Utilita’s customer Service like?

Many people have never experienced any problems with the company, and they actually have a good track record online. if you check their Trust Pilot, they have an average rating of 4.1 stars out of 5, which isn’t the best that we’ve seen but it still pretty good.

Is Utilita a good company?

They are known for being Britain’s largest pay as you go energy supplier, and they have a good reputation as one of the biggest general energy suppliers too. They’re actually committed to providing cheaper prices than any of the big six, so if you’re looking for an off peak energy supplier, they’re definitely worth checking out.

Is it easy to switch to Utilita?

It’s very easy to switch to Utilita from your current energy supplier, and all you have to do is contact their customer service and give them your details. Doing this is straightforward, and it shouldn’t take you more than a few weeks for you to make the switch.

Can I cancel my contract with Utilita?

If you want to cancel your contract or switch to another energy provider, then it’s pretty straightforward. There’s no begging you to stay, or making you fill out tons of forms online. You just need to contact your new energy supplier to get things started.

Conclusion

Overall, Utilita seem to have found their niche in providing electricity on a pay as you go basis. This is the best option for many people, like landlords, who aren’t going to be using their home all year round. They have a great app and smart meter system, and if you’re looking for pay as you go, then they provide some of the best prices on the market.
